What is IAW?
Islam Awareness Week (IAW) is a week-long event held annually at Carleton University along with numerous other institutions across Canada. The goal of IAW is to address misconceptions and stereotypes while raising awareness of the beliefs and values pertaining to Islam in a collaborative and positive way. IAW will approach this objective through an open dialogue with visitors at the event, a dialogue that provides basic facts and insight into Islam and its believers. Overall, the goal is to achieve a greater understanding between IAW volunteers and visitors through open communication and a greater appreciation of one another.
