Led by Shaikh Abdinasir, the purpose of this Information Session is to give you the details about the requirements for you to join us on our upcoming Umrah Trip. Concerns regarding the Umrah visa and passports issues will be addressed.

A relaxing instructed yoga session for sisters before the stressful exam period.

CUMSA is organizing a bake sale to collect funds for the Al Rahma Syrian refugee school in Tripoli, Lebanon founded by Carleton Alumni Mozynah Nofal.

It’s narrated that the Prophet (PBUH) would fast on Ashura, the tenth day of the month of Muharam. CUMSA will be having an iftar on the day of Ashura (this Saturday) for the first time and you are all invited to join!

This biweekly lesson aims to help sisters memorize pre-selcted chapters from the Quran throughout the year.
The Prophet (PBUH) said, “Anyone who knows the Quran by heart, and follows the lawful and the prohibited according to it, will be sent to Heaven by Allah.”

This first-time event is planned as an evening of creative fall-themed crafts and DIY projects for sisters to make over hot chocolate and refreshments.

In collaboration with CUSA and RRRA, this Eid al-Adha celebration is planned as an entertaining formal dinner with ice-breaker games, trivia questions, and of course, delicious free food.

The Prophet (PBUH) said, fasting on the day of Arafah “expiates for the past and coming years.”


This year, CUMSA is holding an iftar on the Day of Arafah, which occurs on the ninth of the month of Dhul Hijjah and during which the Prophet (PBUH) advised Muslims to fast.

For this year ‘s Annual B.B.Q., CUMSA is collaborating with Muslim Youth Leaders of Tomorrow (MYLT) to hold an afternoon full of entertaining activities for sisters and brothers to enjoy along with food and beverages.

Organizers will walk over to Brewer Park to begin the event after Friday prayer.

CU-MSA is organizing a Wonderland trip as an end-of-summer special event. Come join us for an entire day of thrill rides, live entertainment, and more!
Departure will be from Carleton University at 5:30AM on Saturday, August 29 with an estimated arrival time to Canada’s Wonderland at 11:30PM. Departure from Canada’s Wonderland will be at 7:00PM with an estimated midnight arrival time to Carleton campus. The event will follow a sharp schedule.

Departure from campus: 5:30 am.
Leaving Wonderland: 7:00 pm.

Note: We will be departing from and returning to Carleton University’s University Centre building.

Minimum 7 players and 10 players max per team.

UOMSA, MYLT, and CUMSA present “Brothers’ Soccer Tourney!”

3 fields accommodating three 7v7 games simultaneously. There is a winner’s prize for 1st place! Games are 30 minutes each, and teams will be split into 2 pots for group stage matches then elimination semi-finals and finals.

1) Vulgar language and absolutely no physical confrontations will be tolerated.
2) 7 players per side at a time (6 players and a goalie)
3) No arguing with the referee, be respectable to the players and everyone involved.
4) Every team will play same amount of games before heading to semi-finals and finals.
5) Winner’s prize for 1st place.
6) The age limit is 16+.

Looking for something fun to do after exams?! We’ve got a trip full of fun and games for you! An adventure in the largest underground city in the world!

UOMSA, Ihsan Scouts Ottawa, and CUMSA present “The Amazing Race: Montreal Underground City!”

The challenges are organized by a professional team building company to add even better value to the trip and develop teamwork skills for participants.

Participants will be divided into teams of 5s to tackle three types of challenges:
1.Race in the underground maze and answer questions to collect as many points
2.CODE BREAKER: depending on the points you collect you will get a code. You have to work with your team to break the code.
3.MULTIQUEST: Three physical team challenges outdoor (not physically demanding)

We are leaving Ottawa at 9:30 am, challenges are from 12 – 4pm. You will have 2 hours to go to restaurants and shopping. We will get back to the bus at 6:30 pm, back to Ottawa at 9 pm Insha’Allah.

Islam Awareness Week (IAW) is here yet again!

This highly anticipated, annual week-long event brought to you by Carleton University’s Muslim Students’ Association provides everyone a chance to explore one of the biggest and fastest growing religions. This year’s event will shed light on how Islam is a religion of Mercy and how everything we do as humans should be under the umbrella of Mercy. On March 16th to 20th, a wave of volunteers in red will be awaiting an open and free dialogue about “Donating the gift of Mercy”.So come join us!
